Steven you've watched more closely than anybody we got to minute here we're going to hold you through the break. Put it in perspective what's happening on the streets of Beijing and Shanghai Sir.
Steven Mosher
Well, what's happening in the streets of Beijing and Shanghai is also happening in dozens of other cities.
The Chinese people are rising up in protest, really not just against the COVID lockdowns which is the key of course to the beginning of the demonstrations, but what they're what they're upset about of course is the ongoing tightening controls of the high-tech digital dictatorship that is locking down China now. And has been locking down China, remember these people have been in lockdown since February of 2020.
They've been in lockdown for almost three years. It's been an on and off lockdown, but it's come back to cities like Beijing and Wuhan and Shanghai over and over and over again. And of course, the trigger for this was the burning down of the apartment building in Urumqi. The screams of the dying could be heard from a mile away.
Steve Bannon:
Steven Mosher hang on for one second. No one knows China better than Steven Mosher. He's going to join us on the other side.
Steven Mosher we're going to have you back on because I need your thinking about breaking this down, but you see the outrage you see the people that are dug in in Maricopa County, how dug in are they in Shanghai and Beijing and other cities around China sir?
Steven Mosher
Well, they're very dug in because Steve this isn't about the COVID lockdowns people stop being afraid of COVID back in April of 2020 as we did here, realizing that lockdowns are more deadly than the than the virus and so they know this is about control. They know this is about Xi Jinping locking them up in a high-tech digital dictatorship behind the walls that he controls.
The current party General Secretary Xi Jinping fancies himself to be the second coming about Mao Zedong at all and he shares chairman Mao’s disregard for human life. Mao once said what does it matter if millions of people die, they will fertilize the soil. And Xi Jinping the Chinese people know as the same disrespectful attitude towards them. So, it's been 33 years since Tiananmen.
Are we looking at another Tiananmen? I think the people are going to stay out in the streets. I pray that doesn't happen. I want President Biden to speak now, tell the Chinese Communist there will be serious consequences for opening fire on unarmed protesters, COVID reparations, sanction and confiscate American holding of officials, decoupled our economies, send the Chinese students quote end quote home. What are we waiting for?
Steve Bannon:
Steven give me minute on the bravery of these people on the streets, Shanghai, Beijing, cities in China sir.
Steven Mosher
Well, they know that the people's armed police and these are branches of the military that pretend to be police, but they have guess what tanks and armored personnel carriers lurking in the alleyways. They could be given the order to open fire at any time. So, they're risking their lives being out on the streets in the middle of the night.
Many have been arrested already and I'm afraid the worst is yet to come. We can forestall this the Chinese Communist party is still more worried about face than anything else and worried about their declining economy. The economy is in the tank now because Xi Jinping is a committed communist. He wants to bring all of these so-called private enterprises in China under the direct control of the Chinese Communist Party. That will devastate the Chinese economy, disrupt supply chains and increase the speed at which decoupling is happening and it is happening. We are decoupling from China’s economy in real time. It can't happen too soon
