Elon Musk
The overall overarching goal of Neuralink is to create ultimately a whole brain interface. So, a generalized input output device that in the long-term literally could interface with every aspect of your brain. A little bit about a long-term goal, it's going to sound a little esoteric, but it was actually the sort of my prime motivation, what do we do about AI? What do you do about artificial general intelligence if we have digital superintelligence that they’re just much smarter than any human. How do we mitigate that risk at a species level? How do we mitigate that risk? And then even in a benign scenario where the AI is very, very benevolent, then how do we even go along for the ride? How do we participate?
The biggest limitation in going along for the ride and in aligning AI is the bandwidth, how quickly you can interact with the computer. So, we are all already cyborgs in a way in that your phone and your computer are extensions of yourself. Leaving your phone behind is kind of a missing limb at this point. You're so used to interfacing with it. You’re so used to being a de facto cyborg, so if you're interacting with a phone, it's limited by the speed at which you can move your thumbs or the speed at which you can talk into your phone. This is an extremely low data rate. This is the fundamental limitation that I think we need to address to mitigate the long-term risk of artificial intelligence and also just go along for the ride.
So, we want to be able to read the signals from the brain. You want to be able to write the signals. You want to be able to ultimately do that for the entire brain and then also extend that to communicating to the rest of your nervous system. So, this is Pager who's playing a monkey mind pong. Pager has a Neuralink implant in this video. It's sort of like having an Apple watch or a Fitbit, replacing a piece of skull with a smartwatch. I think it's also important to show that Sake actually likes doing the demo, and it's not like strapped to the chair or anything. The monkeys actually enjoy doing the demos and they get the banana smoothie and it's kind of a fun game. So, I guess more importantly is we care a great deal about animal welfare. And I'm pretty sure our monkeys are pretty happy.
Scientist
So, similarly for implanting our device safely into the brain we built the surgical robot that we call the R-1 robot. It's capable of maneuvering these tiny threads that are only on the order of few red blood cells wide and inserting them reliably into a moving brain while avoiding vasculature. So, who wants to see some insertions?
There is second one that went in and we’re going to do a third one. There you go. That’s going to go into the background, and we’ll come back to it. As Elon mentioned over the last that has been the central focus of the company. And we've been working very closely with the FDA to get approval and to launch our first in human clinical trial in the US, hopefully, in the next 6 months.”

And I stall when the lamb opened one of the seals and I heard as it were the noise of thunder. One of the four beasts saying, come and see”. That is from Saint John's Book of Revelation, the apocalypse, and not to overstate it. Last night, the 30th of November in the year of Our Lord 2022 will be a day that has been marked down, the merger of man and machine. Man and computer, in a very disturbing for hours that we covered live on GETTR with Joe Allen and the team I was in for the vast part of it.
I cannot tell you how disturbing this is and how it's just now a thing with no debate, no discussion, nothing except your tax dollars and underwriting and research and all of that going into it, plus your pension funds. So, your culpable here. All of us are. We're going to get to later in the show.
We're going to do a complete drill down on what happened last night with Elon Musk, and his team over Neuralink and what was shown and what they have developed, and I think quite frankly shocked the scientific community about how advanced they are. I just hope they treat us with the banana smoothies the way they gave the apes monkeys, that they're working on. We’re going to bring on Joe Allen.
We're going to get to the more mundane things that we have to worry about like crushing financial capital markets, this lame duck session and all that. I got Russ Voight and I've got the great, Steve Cortes, going to join us momentarily. I want to start with Joe Allen. Joe, you got to come back in the second hour. This was so disturbing, and it's not being covered the right way. It's pure fanboyism. I hope conservative Inc the fanboys understand with Elon Musk, Axios has this huge story about the Republicanfication of Elon Musk. I call a republigarch, right, an oligarch emerged with the elites of the Republican Party. Incredibly disturbing, Joe Allen, what do we see last night sir?
Joe Allen
Steve, that was the Neuralink “Show and Tell and people be waiting to see how far along they are. They appear to be very, very far along. I have followed Neural Link for a few years, and I think this really does show that it's realistic that they will have a device like this in a human brain.
And much like the previous brain computer interfaces that have been shown to work, I anticipate that Neuralink will work quite a bit better. It's much more sophisticated than what Synchron has much more sophisticated than what Black Rock Neurotech has. A lot of people who want to defend Elon Musk point out rightly that this device will allow people who are suffering a stroke, Lou Gehrig's Disease, various other ailments…
Steve Bannon
Stop, that's all they pitched last night, the paraplegics, Lou Gehrig’s that’s all a front. That has nothing to do with what's going on. I'm glad you brought that up. The paraplegics that can’t walk, the blind that couldn’t see, the Lou Gehrig's disease, that's all just a sideshow carnival act, okay? This is man and machine merger. This is what we told you about the convergence of artificial general intelligence regenerative robotics, quantum computing, advanced chip design, CRISPR. That convergence on this side of the football is homo sapiens.
On the other side of the football is Homo Sapiens Plus or something else. And that's why this is so massively important. And the reason it’s important is no one is talking about this. No one is talking about how this actually got to be. Last night, correct me if I'm wrong. He was much further advanced. He's much farther advanced then what people thought, and this ties back exactly to the executive order that Biden signed about that really is about transhumanism. They try to say we're curing cancer. It's a moonshot.
That's all nonsense. It's all crap. That's what they're using is air cover for what they're doing. This is a man-machine merger. This is the most significant thing. Forget climate change. That's all some bizarro medieval religion, pagan religion. This is the thing itself. Last night and went on for four and a half hours, right. Anyway, Joe, give me a summary. I don't want to steal your thunder. I want you to come in. I want you to really drill down on this.
Joe Allen
You can say that you finished my thought. So right now, they're talking about drilling people. And as I pointed out many, many times, the underlying principle for how transhumanism will develop is a progression from healing through enhancement. And what we heard last night is Musk openly stating that the underlying philosophy behind Neuralink is the idea that the brain computer interface will be necessary in order to keep up with artificial intelligent. In particular, artificial general or artificial super intelligent and that he is actively working on Tesla is working on artificial general intelligence. So, I think that the really put a bow on this. What we're seeing is a technocrat offering a technical solution to the sort of technology that he's producing.
Steve Bannon
Okay. Joe. Joe's going to join us in the second hour. We're going to get to a drill down on this. This is the whole reason we had our editor Joe joined us a couple of years ago. These are fundamentally, quite frankly shocking and there's no discussion no debate and then now they're going to go to the FDA. What you got standing between you and Homo Sapiens Plus is the FDA. You feel good, maybe throw the CDC and there too, just so you feel better. Joe Allen, thank you very much. Magnificent job, the whole who support team.
We had 27,000. We had 27,000 people on GETTR last night live during this. That was the level of interest, and I want to thank everybody in the Posse. The engagement was incredible. So, Joe Allen yesterday is a day that will live in infamy. They say Steve Bannon, you're a Luddite. You guys are anti-technology. No, we're not anti-technology. What we're anti is these monumental things happening and having no debate and no discussion about it and they just happen. Joe Allen describe what last night was, this Neuralink, is kind of a side hustle.
And if people think Elon Musk is not talented. Look, I'm not an Elon Musk fan at all. People know that because his involvement with the CCP and other things, but it was pretty impressive what Neuralink has done. I will say that. Talked to us about this four hour and I really want to thank you think of her. 27,000 members of the War Room Posse that were watching this live last night. We were doing chats on it. Joe you were the host, incredible, and people hung for the whole four and a half hours. So, what occurred last night, sir?
Joe Allen
Yes, Steve Neuralink had their “Show and Tell” in which they basically laid out what advances they've accomplished and of course, Musk began talking about the philosophy that underpins it. That philosophy is the most important element in my mind. Right now, you've got a lot people full on the right and understandably cheering Elon Musk for the acquisition of Twitter in the advocacy of free speech, totally for that and tactfully I really understand that we’re cheerleading but in the same way that you can only make sense of what Neuralink is really intended for, which is for normal human beings, take it as a sort of commercial product and using the human brain, the human soul with artificial intelligence. The same way that Neurolink can only be understood in light of that philosophy, I think it's good to ask the question, how do we understand this acquisition of Twitter in light of that underlying philosophy.
Steve Bannon
This is a homo sapiens 2.0, is it not? You're seeing the convergence because, he talked about I'm doing this, his explanation will play it at the next part, that I'm doing this so, we, mankind can get ahead of artificial intelligence. I'm not driving us to the Singularity, I'm doing this for the benefit of mankind. Give me 30 seconds before we go to break Joe.
Joe Allen
Musk has opened this in many ways driving toward the Singularity. He just sees it as being much more gradual than Ray Kurzweil would predict, but he is, Tesla is working on artificial general intelligence, he has hinted, and obviously the brain machine interface is something that is a pet project of his. No, I don't buy the idea that he's trying to fight this by being a good guy.
Steve Bannon
Yeah. Short commercial break.
Tell us how big a deal is this, Joe Allen? You cover this for us non-stop and this is one of the reasons we brought you on. We knew this day was coming but quite frankly even I'm surprised at how quickly it has arrived sir.
Joe Allen
I think one of the most important aspects of Elon Musk character as a public figure, is that he is the sort of conservative bridge towards that transhumanist future that he briefly describes in the video we just saw but has been described at length in other interviews. I think that the conservative mentality, the idea that we should conserve, but it's old, ancient, in many ways eternal, is the strongest bastion against this radical technological evolution and Musk has provided a welcome bridge to those transhumanist ideology.
If I can mention briefly, I've got a new piece, ‘Con Them with Kindness’ and it’s looking at two concepts we brought up on the show before long-termism and effective altruism and FDX and Sam Bankman-Fried have been in the news quite a bit and that idea, those two philosophies have been in the news alongside him because he was part of the effective altruism movement. His mentor is the probably the most articulate advocate for long term is in the idea that we should be looking into the far distant future as we make our policies in behave today. Well, Elon Musk also advocates that thinker, William Mccaskill and so on. I'm not saying that you Elon Musk is in cahoots, with FDX. What I am saying.
Steve Bannon
You're burying the lead. Long-termism is a concept that looks down range. You have to look at humanity and human beings and think about their well-being, although many decades generations ahead. You have to look way down range long termism. The issue is, who are those going to be? Well, trust me, it's not it's not going to be this audience because you're nothing but, let me be blunt, you're the monkey they're given the banana smoothie to. You're the monkey with the banana smoothie, let them do something good, pat him on the head, and give them a smoothie, that's you. Am I incorrect there, Joe Allen?
When we talk about long-termism. Putin calls it the golden billion, and I would say it's the golden or the platinum hundreds of millions but it's not humanity is not homo sapiens, not the eight billion folks living on this planet today that they think are a bother. Fundamentally, they take away these central tenet of the Judeo- Christian West and yes, I said Judeo-Christian. Okay. Judeo Christian, the underpinnings of our civilization and our faith, right? That man is made in the image and likeness of God and inspired by a spirit, the Holy Spirit, that makes us different than the animal kingdom, okay?
And remember this thing in the Bible only makes sense when you look at transhumanism. Jesus Christ himself told his Apostles, they can say anything about me, it doesn't matter. They can say anything about me but the only eternal sin, the only unforgivable sin is to blaspheme the holy spirit. And let me be brutally frank, what is going on is blaspheming the Holy Spirit, the spirit that makes us that empowers us innervates us and makes us different than the animal kingdom. All they think of you is you’re a de-facto cyborg. They say it, you're a de-facto, cyborg. You're the monkey. They're giving the banana smoothie to keep going and keep happy until they don't need the monkey, Joe Allen.
Joe Allen
Yeah, the idea behind long-termism at least as William McCaskill puts it forward is that our behaviors today, have to be oriented through all of the trillions and billions of human beings that will exist in the future. But he also includes in that concept of a person digital minds that we live in a vast computer simulation, ideas that Musk has echoed repeatedly. And both ideas come out of the transhumanist circle in Oxford.
Elon Musk is probably the most famous proponent of Long-termism, even if he is only made reference to it once, he said that William McCaskill’s book, ‘What We Owe the Future’ is as close to his philosophy as he could imagine, something like that, that's to paraphrase. And the other most famous proponent of effective altruism and long-termism is Sam Bankman-Fried. And if Sam Bankman-Fried’s behavior, his altruistic benevolent behavior, is what we can expect out of that movement then I think that it at least gives us a good warning as to where Neuralink, Space X and Tesla are all going to do.
Steve Bannon
Joe, you going to be back on this afternoon with this? How do people get that? I'm going to save it to then because it's so powerful what you've done and we're so proud that you're part of the team. How do people get to you sir?
Joe Allen
You can find the latest article, ‘Con them with Kindness.’ It’s up at my site Joebotxyz to the top of my social media Joe BotXYZ and on the topic of pessimism versus optimism, Steve, I would say compared to me, you are indeed a light bulb.
Steve Bannon
Sir, thank you very much. Joe to join us back, our editor for all things, transhumanism.
